On the WAVE Productions new KESSLER GEAR!

That was quick, now we can take a break

Jonesy laying down on the job!
Meanwhile back at the warehouse Julie and Nicole are assembling the 20ft. Crane and 12 ft motorized shuttle dollie system from Kessler Crane. The motorized capability with computer control on both pieces of gear  provide versatility of use, in other words a multitude of different shot techniques like dynamic timelapse sequences as well as fast chase shots using lower ratio motors to capture quick action shots. The remote head which can be used on either including a cineslider actually has 4 motors 2 for each axis and are belt driven for precision, low noise and high load capacity.

Our mascot Jonesy looks on as these units get assembled and torn down in a matter of minutes!

'Bernie' screening benefits Bastrop fire relief

Richard Linklater
WILDFIRE destroyed over 1550 homes in town of Bastrop, Texas where BERNIE was filmed and where Director Richard Linklater is a part-time resident. Richard lost his home and some additional structures during the fire.

We spent a good amount of time there working on Bernie and met so many of the residents of that area who were so accomodating and opened there doors to all of us everywhere we went! Some of the locals also starred in the film!

Jack Black
Richard Linklater & Ginger Sledge along with Jack Black put on a Benefit screening last week in Austin for Bernie that raised over $175,000.00!!

Cinematographers 3D Mastering at Sony Pictures

On the set Bruce Dobrin and Rich checking out the 3ALITY rig with 2 Sony 1500R's
Mike deGruy and myself were fortunate enough to be invited by Sony Pictures to a Masters class in 3D film making taught by Buzz Hayes and Bruce Dobrin. It was quite the experience and after 2 full days we walked away with the ability to add another dimension to our productions. Convergence, divergence, interaxial, orthostereo, stereography and more 3D terminology became a part of our film vocabulary and understanding. I'll be headed back to SPE to delve into the 3D realm again and can hardly wait!
